For those who plan to extend their European trip, Amsterdam is conveniently located in the heart of Western Europe. That said, we are biased and think you can fill your entire trip traveling just the Netherlands! The closest train station to the wedding venue and hotel blocks is Amsterdam Centraal.
• NS App is the primary train app for trains within the Netherlands. You do not need to book trains tickets in advance of trips within the Netherlands. You can use a Visa or Mastercard to tap in/ out, in lieu of purchasing tickets at the station.
• Trainline is the preferred app for trains in and out of the country. You generally do need to book train tickets in advance of trips in and out of the country.
• Sixt is the popular car rental service, but we do not recommend renting a car for driving within Amsterdam.
• Leiden is Dave's favorite city in the Netherlands. It is a canal-city and college town with great restaurants and shopping. We recommend renting a boat, visiting the Botanical Gardens, and shopping at the Street Market (Wednesdays & Saturdays).

• The Hague (Den Haag) is our home city. It is the center of Dutch and international government organizations and rich in culture. We recommend walking the Denneweg for shopping and eating, enjoying the beach bars and North Sea at Scheveningen, visiting art museum Mauritshuis (Anna's favorite), and touring the Louwman Museum, the world's largest private car collection (Dave's favorite).

• Delft is Anna's favorite city in the Netherlands. It is a canal-lined city known for its medieval architecture and historic charm. • Utrecht is a medieval city known for its castle and cathedral. We recommend climbing the stairs at Dom Tower, kayaking the canals, shopping Vredenburg Market (Wednesdays, Fridays, Saturdays), and if you have a little more time trekking to Kasteel de Haar.

We recommend booking train tickets in advance, as most international destinations require a seat reservation. While these times are from Amsterdam Centraal, if you plan to go from elsewhere in the Netherlands, departing from Rotterdam Centraal will likely be a closer option.
